This Really Works!!

This is the first and only book I ever bought on the subject of witchcraft. I purchased it in the 1980's as a young teen. As I do not have other references to compare it to, I will tell you that the materials in "The magic power of witchcraft" produce results. Some of the activities seemed too simple to work, but all of them did. I am only leaving this review to let others know that the stuff in here works. I came across this title on Amazon and read a few very bad reviews. I can honestly say that anyone who says it doesn't work, did something wrong or did nothing at all.

Not "Wiccan" at all

It uses the term "witchcraft" in the title because this is not a wiccan fluffy bunny BS book. This gets down to the nitty gritty and actually tell you how to DO stuff. Each section has it's own affirmation for that particular talent.
Sections include astral projection, spirit guides, how to win someone over, and how to make your money grow.
The Frost's are straight up and forward about everything. There are no disclaimers and no ethics crap. This stuff works!! Use at your own risk and be careful what you ask for.

Great if you're planning to make a ton of soap to begin with...

I think this book won't help too many beginning/novice soap makers. The process is only slightly more complicated than cold process soap making, and the way it's explained, it's not very intimidating. Just more steps, and more ingredients.

However, my main complaint (and why it isn't the best for beginners) is that all of the recipes make commercial-size batches of soap (author mentions that recipes make 50-60 "average sized" bars of soap). This is great when you're making soap to sell or want to do a lot for holiday gifts, but for your first time making transparent soap it could lead to a LOT of wasted ingredients (if you miss or mess up a step).

For future editions, I'd like to see at least one beginner recipe that makes just 1-2 pounds of soap with this process, to familiarize readers with it on a smaller scale with less risk. Otherwise I think the book is easy to read and the directions seem easy to follow. The author also gives good advice on buying your ingredients to avoid spending more money than necessary, particularly for the alcohol needed as a solvent in the later steps (hint: if you buy it from the liquor store, you'll likely overpay).

Best soap-making book on the market.

I bought this book several years ago and it is the best soap-making book I've found. The instructions are simple and easy to follow and the different ingredients used are explained perfectly. I had made soap many times before I bought this book and I used to use the cold-process method. My soap was good, but it takes several weeks for cold-process soap to complete it's chemical reaction. After it's cured, if it is stored for any length of time it shrinks and so it doesn't look as good then. Also, the cold-process soaps I made tended to be somewhat soft and would be used up rather quickly. All of those problems disappeared with the soaps made from this book's recipes. The recipes call for alcohol. After experimenting with several kinds of alcohol, I settled on using EverClear. It smells good in the soap, and doesn't dry the skin, contrary to what one might think. The EverClear costs more than the cheapest vodka, but the results are dramatically better. When I went to the Chemical store (it's in the city where I live) to buy the scents and bulk supplies, the chemist said that clear soap can't be made at home because it had to cooked under pressure and that it would take a genius to figure out how to do it. He wanted to sell me the melt-and-pour soap base, and I felt like he'd challenged me, so I went home and made transparent soap with this book and it turned out great. Yes, the soap is cooked under pressure, but all it takes is following the instructions in the book where a sheet of plastic is bungeed over the soap-making pot and that pot is placed inside a bigger pot of boiling water. After cooking for a time, the soap is poured into molds and is ready to use as soon as it cools and hardens. This is the hot-process and the soap is very thin when it is ready to be poured into the molds. This makes it very easy to mold well (no tapping out air pockets) but your molds must be water-tight. Regular soap molds work well, but home-made loaf-type molds need to be lined so they don't leak. My sister has the first book I bought and won't give it back, so I am buying another one.

I love this book

I love this book. Highly recommend it to beginners. Recipes are easy. If you want to make a transparent soap and are looking for a helpful reassures, buy this book. I have tried different recipes, and all my attempts was not successful. However, after I have made transparent soap by Catherine's Failor recipes I have got perfect transparent soap at the first try with good soap qualities. Very, very helpful.

This is an incredibly good book. Well written and easy to understand. Anyone who wishes to improve his or her relationship with any one should read this book. In fact, even if you do not need to improve your relationship with others or anyone in particular, this book is a must read.

This book is way beyond "wow!" The book cover designer is so intuitive.He shows us that the irradiance from the goldenness
of "the field" is so powerful that it opens the heart almost effortlessly as it emerges into conscious awareness! I am reading and rereading the words of this book…so simple and honest…and finding the free process so clearly stated is a pathway to true
heart meditation and new levels of self-knowing.

After finishing Martin Birrittella’s book “Field of Love – How to Experience the Field” I felt pumped knowing a “how to find enlightenment” book exists that simply identifies how everyone and anyone is ready to connect with it all. The idea of “seeking”, (aka I am not good enough), is now replaced with “finding”. (or I already have it.) (Birrittella calls “It” –“the Field).

Birrittella shatters the commonly held notion of mystical experience being the domain of
Eastern aesthetics or orange robed holy men. In a nutshell we can relate to Birrittella’s life as in so many ways it mirrors ours. “If he can do it, than so can I” is a breakthrough understanding versus “there is no way I can be like him or do that.”

It’s no accident the great mystic Ramana Maharshi is cited in Birrittella’s book. Somewhere between Ramana’s words “you are perfect who you are” and “the only thing keeping you from the bliss of enlightenment is the thought you are not,” is an empowerment to rise, put a smile on your face and roar with enthusiasm “I am free.”

Birrittella offers enthusiasm as one of ingredients in the recipe for experiencing the One and this book exudes this message. The great motivational talk given to the US Olympic Hockey Team by Herb Brooks could be adapted to summarize the power imbibed from reading “Field of Love”.

This is a simple, concise book about the extremely pertinent ecological, economic and social impact of materials and methods of construction in traditional versus modern mid-eastern architecture. Hassan Fathy, founder of the International Aga Khan Architectural Awards recognized organic approaches to architecture long before it became vogue to do so.
As a resident of Southern California I'm concerned that this obvious need to regard the conductivity of materials as well as their application in architecture and landscape architecture is under-acknowledged. The collective impact of disregard for the heating influence of materials on our shared environment could likely reverse the affects of strict water conservation measures. Direct observation is the greatest research tool one can utilize to uphold respect for the evolution of traditional vernacular elements of middle eastern construction -well presented in this book.

This book has a traditional and philosophic view to the effects of environment on man and his architecture; this view could be affected by its authors, especially Hassan Fathy.

Although "Natural Energy and Vernacular Architecture: Principles and Examples with Reference to Hot Arid Climates" give you a wide range of environmental idea, but, Almost without any clear referring to done study or established researches, this book try to explain the some thermal techniques for thermal comfort achievement.

This book includes two parts. In the first part we can see the relationship between Man, Natural Environment and Architecture as three impressible factors. This part of book is in tow chapters. In chapter one, we become familiar with relationship between environment and architecture, the effect of climate on architectural form, environment, conscious modification of microclimate and finally trends in international architecture. Chapter tow includes architectural thermodynamics and human comfort in hot climates, temperature, thermal conduction and resistance, radiation, emissive, absorptive, and reflectivity transparency. In other sections of this chapter we learn about thermal convection, atmospheric pressure, water vapour, cooling by evaporation, thermal gain, thermal loss, dynamic thermal equilibrium, heat-regulating mechanisms of human body, and measurement of conditions of human comfort.

The second part tents to natural energy and vernacular architecture. This part includes four chapters. In first chapter of this part - the third chapter of book - we can learn about architecture and comfort, architectural design for a comfortable microclimate, and building materials. Chapter four assigns to the sun factor, orientation, shading, facades, openings and the roof. Chapter five is in the wind factor in air movement, air movement by pressure differential, the Claustrum, the wind-escape, the Malquf, and the Badgir. As the sixth chapter we can know in the sun factor in air movement, air movement by convection, the courtyard house, the Takhtabush and traditional city layout and climate. For chapter seventh the humidity factor, the fountain and the Salsabil have been seen.

Although there are some good ideas in terms of using the passive systems techniques, but this book is not recommended for research students whom must refer their studies to acceptable references.
